City of Auburn Mayor Signs Proclamation — May 4

Artist Trust Board Signs Resolution — May 2
 

The Board of Directors of Artist Trust, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting Washington State artists working in all creative disciplines, has approved a resolution in support of Arts Education Month. Click here to download the Artist Trust resolution (PDF).

 

 
San Juan County Council Signs Proclamation — April 28
 

On April 28, the San Juan County Council signed a proclamation recognizing May as Arts Education Month. Barbara Courtney, Executive/Artistic Director at the Orcas Center, has also secured an Orcas Center Board resolution and an Orcas Island School Board resolution; and she had an op-ed published in the Islands Sounder on April 27. Bethel School Board Passes Resolution — April 28
 

The School Board of Bethel School District 403 passed a resolution in support of Arts Education Month at their April 28 meeting. ArtsEd Washington Board President and Bethel Director of Arts Education Michael J. Sandner read the resolution, which was received with applause by the crowd of more than 500 teachers, parents, and students. Click here to download the Bethel SD Board resolution (PDF).

 

 
WSSDA Board Passes Resolution — April 25

Senate Passes Arts Education Month Resolution — April 24
 

The Washington State Senate officially passed a resolution recognizing May as Arts Education Month on Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m. The resolution, SR 8658, was spearheaded by Senator Rosemary McAuliffe and co-sponsored by ten other senators. Six senators spoke from the floor in support of the resolution and arts education during the public hearing. City of Tukwila Proclaims Arts Education Month — April 27

TSO Recognizes AEM in Simply Symphonic Release — April 8
