Workshop Descriptions
Integrating Art and Science through the Observation Process
Focus on study of the natural world through observational drawing of plants and animals using line, shape and texture for accuracy and detail. We will also reflect and discuss the process of scientific documentation of the natural world as seen in historic journals of early explorers. Students will illustrate earth, life or growth cycles through simple book making.
Taught by Meredith Essex
Infusing Dance and Math
When students put math into their whole bodies, they understand, remember, and are totally engaged. We’ll use dance concepts and strategies to explore a series of math concepts and procedures from the state GLE’s. Number sense, geometric sense, and algebraic sense will make more sense to your students when they dance them.
Taught by Debbie Gilbert
