In 2009, Washington State had gathered and published statewide arts education data through the Arts Education Research Initiative.
Then 10 years passed without new statewide data.

In 2019, OSPI,  ArtsEd Washington, Inspire Washington, ArtsWA, and The Creative Advantage informally explored shared goals
and envisioned what would later become the Arts For All Coalition. In the years that followed, leaders from around the state pursued four strategy areas to achieve our arts education access and equity goals:
Collective Action, Data and Research, Educator Support, Student Empowerment

Sixteen years after Washington’s Arts Education Research Initiative, we are proud to have finally harnessed statewide data that will
help Washington leaders make data-informed decisions on improving arts access.

Together, we will ensure a vibrant and creative future for ALL students in Washington State!
