Steps for Preparation: Portion clay into similar sized clumps
Delivery Time: 1+ Hours
Steps to Complete the Project/Lesson:
This is a 2-day project if you would like the finished product painted.
Pass out small clumps of clay to each student. About 2" around.
Roll into a ball.
Press thumb into the middle with slight pressure. Not enough to puncture through.
Start rotating clay while pinching the sides up to create a small pot.
Use a toothpick or sculpting tool to create lines and designs on the sides of your pot. Don't press too hard or it will puncture.
Use small dish and add small amount of water.
Dip your finger into the water and use to smooth rough edges or undesired lumps. Too much water will ruin the project, and you will need to start over.
Set aside and let dry for at least 24 hours.
After it is dry, you can paint or take home as is.
